And the Wooten tradition continues

As many of you probably know each year me, my sister and my mother all volunteer for a whole week in the end of march for Jason Lees outdoor education program. Well i am happy to say that the 2013 C

amp Wooten week went great filled with busy days and short nights. I sure love the time we have up there and look forward to many more years. Yet again i taught compass class with my sister installing survival skills into every kid that came through. We had awesome weather with no snow and very little rain, which is a nice change from the last few years where we have snow and rain everyday.

Another busy week

The last week has been yet another busy week. David has been working every day during the week putting in overtime and hopefully getting closer to going to his normal shift. While i like him being home when he is, it will be nice to have him on his real shift so we can start getting used to it. We both look forward to weekends when we can actually spend time together.
Payten is officially registered for kindergarten! i cant believe she will be in school next year. where has all the time gone!? She is a little nervous about it but by the time come for her to go I'm sure she will be fine. Allyxis as always is growing like a weed and getting better and better at walking. With all the nice weather the last week we just had to take advantage of it! we look a long walk on Friday and went to the park today so the kids could play.

As for me I have been busy getting things done around the home and preparing for yet another year of Camp Wooten coming up at the end of the month. Also preparing for another busy week to come.

Easter Eggs!

While Easter is still two weeks away we went ahead and did our Easter fun things this weekend because we will not have another weekend with all the kids before then. David was excited because he loves hard boiled eggs and the kids were excited because they wanted to color them. over all a win win...I saw on pinterest somewhere that using a whisk to hold eggs is easy for kids and the wont fall in. Well it was awesome, i highly recommend it! So the kids had a blast and I love doing activities with them. The time spent with your kids is the most precious memories you can make.

resurrection rolls

While taking advantage of the last weekend with all the kids before Easter we did a few fun baking projects. I have seen these many times and have wanted to make them just never did so i thought what better time to do them then now when Easter is in the air. There is short but sweet bible meaning to every ingredient. to make them all you need is biscuit dough, marshmallows, stick of butter, and cinnamon sugar. just roll the marshmallows in the melted butter then in the cinnamon sugar. then wrap biscuit dough around marshmallow and coat dough with butter and cinnamon sugar. bake at 350 for 10-15 min. When done the marshmallow will "disappear" and the rolls with be hollow representing the resurrection of Christ and the empty tomb. They have great meaning and are very delicious. A huge hit in our house!

Pinks the color!

So far this Birthday has been good! my birthday is still a little over a week away and David has already given me a couple of things. I am so excited to have my 20 gage and to top it off it is pink! does he know me or what!? I have already taken it out and it is awesome, i cant wait to do it again.

Fun Family weekend

Last weekend we stayed very busy having fun and being with the ones we love. The weekend started off with our usual movie night and then up early on Saturday which meant sleeping in for David after a long work week and play time for the kids while i folded laundry. The kids have a fascination with getting to play in the basement. There is a nice play area for them where they can play with the little red car and the play kitchen. While they played i got some laundry folded and was able to watch them have a blast. when  David got up we loaded up in the truck and went out to a friends house to go shooting. I had a chance to shoot and Ive gotta say David has really sparked an interest in me with guns and shooting. Payten shot for the first time(with assistance of course) and we was very excited to be able to teach her respect and gun safety. with the right rules it can be a blast. Wyatt as always was eager to go out there and shoot his new green 22. Saturdays busyness was followed by a Sunday of church and a little shopping. As always Monday came way to fast and i cant wait to have this weekend to spend with David.
