Kids Project

I saw this kids project on Pintrest a while ago and have been wanting to let the kids try it. All that is to it is baking soda, vinegar and food coloring. Make a good thick layer of baking soda in the bottom of a glass baking dish. Pour vinegar into four small bowls and then drop different colored food coloring into each bowl. Let the kids take turns dropping the vinegar into the baking dish with the baking soda in it. When the vinegar makes contact with the baking soda it fizzes. It entertained Payten and Wyatt for a good hour, I would say its a winner!

Pools, parks and other things kids like

With it being summer and the weather being great(most the time) we have been taking our weekends with the kids and going outside. I bought a small blow up pool for the backyard and the kids have been in it everyday since we got it. We also have been going to the park whenever we can and letting the kids get some energy out. The fresh air is good for them!!

Today we went to the badger mountain water park and had some fun. We spent the whole afternoon there and the kids probably would have stayed there all night if I had let them. Even Allyxis was having fun in the water. we went home to have a great dinner with David and relax enjoying each others company.

A Purple Gun!

Yes I got a purple gun! we have been on the lookout for a handgun for me but I insisted that it had to be pink or purple. well we went into Ranch and Home last month and they had a Ruger LC9 in purple and black. I had to have it! so we jumped at the availability because they normally don't stay in stock very long when they do finally get one. We picked it up on the weekend we had all the kids so we took advantage of it and went shooting. Payten got a pink 22LR that matches my 20 gauge for her birthday and she had not had the chance to get it out and shoot it yet. We let the kids shoot their guns one at a time(with much supervision and at least one of our hands on the gun at all times) and then it was our turn once they were all back sitting in the truck watching. I shot my guns a few times and then even shoot David's Glock, which he thought was very cool. I've got to say I am pretty addicted to this gun hobby. I even just got my concealed weapons permit. I cant believe it took me this long to break into this hobby. Thanks Honey!

Fathers Day for David

Wow! fathers day has already come and gone! seems like just yesterday...Well David had to work on fathers day so we gave him a couple of his presents early so he could enjoy them and left just one for that Sunday. Me and the kids got a little crafty and make a couple things that I hope he loved as much as we had fun making them. the kids and me made him a "dad sign" which had all the kids hand prints on it and if I may just add getting a 1 year old to hold still enough for me to put her hands in paint and onto a sign without it being totally smeared everywhere is an accomplishment in itself. But anyways, We gave him that while Wyatt was with us a couple of weeks early along with a dad shirt that had a hunting theme. I hung it in the hall way upstairs and he has said thank you for it a few times.
Let me stop here to say that while David is not the girls biological father and will not take his place he has been an amazing father figure to them. I like to think they love him like a father. I will not ever be able to express how appreciative I am that he has stepped up and taken that role. It would be a privilege for my girls to one day call him step dad.
On fathers day we still had one thing up our sleeve for him. We did not get him what he wanted but lets face it, that will never happen(he says that he wants nothing for every holiday. he is just like my dad!) I put some time in on pinterest to find some good craft ideas for fathers day and came out with a candy bar card. I had fun making it and I know he liked it because there is no candy left on it.

Soccer

With summer in the air comes many activities for the kids. This year Payten has chosen to participate in soccer through the local YMCA. She has been asking to play since she participated in our churches soccer camp last summer and I figured if she is still asking about it a year later then it deserves a shot. She has had one game so far and another on Tuesday to come. While she is not the fastest on the team she seems to be having a good time and is very excited to learn more of the game. lets hope she enjoys it the whole season. the first couple of pictures is of practice and then the last two are of her first game. She is on the orange team

Glasses

While it may not seem like a big deal to some, to me it kinda is...I got glasses! I don't have to wear them all the time but still I think they look ok on me and hopefully others think so too.

Girls night and Family BBQ

With everything going on it is nice to get away and do something with the girls. And that it exactly what my sister, my mom and me did! We took advantage of a weekend I had no kids and my dad and brother were out of town. Just the girls went out and got spa pedicures and then went to dinner at Twigs. Then after dinner did a little shopping cuz what girls night is complete without shopping!? The next evening we had a BBQ to celebrate Heathers birthday. The kids played outside with the bikes and things while the women prepared food and got to talk. It was fun and me and David along with Wyatt got to attend which does not happen very often.

little man hockey

June was a busy month for us with many activities with the kids. One of those was Wyatt's hockey. To finish off his hockey program that he has been in he had a mini hockey tournament on the 8th. They played 5 short games against all the other teams. David asked for the day off of work so that we could all go and watch him play as a family. While hockey with kids this age is not much of a game to watch but rather seeing who stays on their skates the longest or who can move the puck without falling over, we had fun and I'm sure he enjoyed the fact that we were all there cheering him on.

Summer school

OK so I know that I am way behind so I have devoted the next how ever long it takes me this morning to get caught up. I will try to post things in the order that they happened but lets face it does it matter that much...so stay tuned there is more to come...First off since the last post I have been working what I thought would be a job I would be at for a while. Turns out this job is just not working out. I as of July 9th will again be not working(I like to call it working on my domestic diva skills). But with that come the ability to enjoy the summer with my kids and take advantage of any fun things we could do before school come and Payten enters the world of kindergarten. That leads me to the first posting of a couple of pictures...Payten attended a kindergarten summer school program for the last 5 weeks. She LOVED it! She had so much fun and her teacher was great. As a mom I just had to get pictures of her on her first and last day. it wasn't very long so she doesn't look any different in the pictures but you know its a mom thing. First day is on the left and last day is on the right.
